Staat Tuckpointing & Waterproofing is 90% complete.  Hyde Sheet Metal is doing the copper material and they are nearing the top.  The new lightning protection work began this week.   And we are staying within budget!  Our owner's rep, Bill Ahal, climbed to the top this week to check the work and took pictures while her was there! The General Contractor, ISC Contracting, has ordered the new louvers and preparing for the interior work on the bell tower soon. Brand/Safway will return when it's all complete to remove the scaffolding. And the cross is being cleaned and restored too!

Our Owner's Rep, Bill Ahal, climbs up weekly to inspect and usually snaps some great shots.  The week of July 18 started the tuckpointing work.  The heat has made it hard for the workers, but they are plugging along very well.
]]><![CDATA[Day #19]]>Thu, 07 Jul 2022 20:22:18 GMThttps://emmanuelepiscopal.org/steeple--bell-tower-2022/day-19Images today are of the copper going on and the cross.  The one thing we could not determine until it came down was exactly how the cross was made.  Note the wood inside.  The "cone and straps" that connect the cross to the steeple structure will be replaced.  And we believe the cross is actually copper! So bringing it back to its original look will be great.  Thanks to Dave Pluhar for these pics!

The scaffolding is complete. Many parts and pieces! The cross came down and without the base, it is probably the size of a 7 year old Jeanie Lockwood!  The photo is of a 42" high 4 year old, born 150 years after the cross was installed!  Progress being made!
